Summer Fun

Summer’s here, and while the mercury levels can’t be controlled, the energy levels of children sure can be, with the different camps on offer this season.

Adventure camps still rock on the popularity index, with more names cropping up — an increase of 50 percent — compared to last year. Their prices too have increased by 15 percent — and are between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 15,000. But this has not dampened the spirits.

Creative summer camps that offer activities around dance, painting and singing, say their prices have remained the same. What is new is the emergence of some pan India players, which has pushed up options by more than 50 percent. Creative camps cost between Rs. 500 and Rs. 5,000.

Karate camps have seen a kick in the right direction, with an increase in demand and supply. A month of kicks and punches would set you back by Rs. 1,500. Trainers say that parents like these camps as they offer a controlled environment packed with action. This is reflected in attendance, which has gone up by 50 percent.
