Joint Venture  Windows Phone 7, Designed Home Furniture and Treadmill
Industrial designer Sandeep Sangaru won the design concept award in Home Furniture at the Red Dot Design Awards 2009 with his Truss Me line. Handcrafted and sustainable, it uses the high tensile strength of bamboo to create a light yet strong structure. The technique involves splitting a solid bamboo pole a little beyond the knots and laminating it with another strip of split bamboo on the internal surface. This serves as a lightweight load-bearing truss for furniture, shelters and modular systems. The components can be batch produced by craftsmen, with templates ensuring consistency in production and quality. Sangaru recently set up Sangaru Design Objects
