Watching a movie on the day of its release has just become an exclusive affair. And you don’t need to be a friend of the producer or the stars to get a private screening, in the luxury of your personal home theatre. But you would need to know someone who is part of the elite Club X.

UFO Moviez has been digitally broadcasting movies to commercial theatres and, three months ago, floated a pilot project for Club X with 75 members who can afford private screenings at home. Now, they have decided to invite new members, but  to limit the total membership to just a thousand. The firm has tied up with several of India’s movie producers and has built a vast library of past and recent releases. After a sign-up fee of Rs. 6 lakh, UFO Moviez will install the required equipment to beam movies into your home.

You also get an iPhone or iPad app that comes along with it as a remote control to navigate among the multitude of movies.

Each screening can cost between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 70,000, depending on the producer's arrangement with Club X. That would be short change for those who would have spent upwards of Rs. 10 lakh on setting up their home theatres.

For now, only referrals by existing members can fetch you this personal movie watching experience and your home theatre sure needs to meet strict standards.
