100% electrification? Let there be light

On April 28, Leisang in Manipur became the last village in India to be connected to the power grid. With this, the government claimed to have ushered in 100 percent electrification. However, according to the National Rural Electrification Policy, a village is defined as ‘electrified’ if a transformer is connected to the grid and power lines are laid in all households, including a Dalit one.
