After a long lull, the younger sibling of Mukesh Ambani is back doing deals. His Reliance Power won a bid against Gautam Adani to acquire the hydropower assets of debt-laden Jaiprakash Associates for an estimated $2 billion. Son Jai Anmol, a Warwick Business School grad, who works at finance arm Reliance Capital, was reportedly involved in the negotiations. Earlier in March, Reliance Infrastructure launched Mumbai's first Metro line, which has since carried 18.5 million commuters. Reliance Capital is partnering Nippon Life Insurance in a new banking venture that is yet to get a licence. Entertainment unit Reliance MediaWorks, which he recently delisted, merged its film services business with listed outfit Prime Focus.
