GPS: Zx150 Deluxe

In keeping with the ‘Deluxe’ tag in its moniker, the ZX150 shimmers with features. Starting with a 5-inch touchscreen, it adds media playing support, Bluetooth handsfree, and you can use it as a screen for car reverse camera as well.

Mapping is extensive, and accurate. It locks on to the satellites in a jiffy and you can search by address, or Places Of Interest, mark waypoints, avoid specified routes, and also view POIs near your current location. And then you get turn-by-turn instructions to your destination.

The large screen translates to better map readability, and displays info such as speed and ETA simultaneously, without affecting navigation. Also commendable are the intuitive  menus and large finger-friendly icons. You can drag the map with your finger, change viewing angle, zoom in or out, and tap at any point on the map to navigate or get related options.

The mono speaker is skimpy for media playback, but you can connect it to the aux-in port of your car stereo; useful for navigation and as a handsfree too. You can sync contacts with it and use the onscreen dialler to make calls, without having to fish for your phone. Popular media formats are supported for playback; however the screen isn’t as crisp as we had expected.

Considering its all-round abilities, it’s surely worth a look.
