Sports Facility: Golfworx

So yes, I endorse the experience.

I have been to Golfworx around 10 times. There are six simulators here to choose from and they have courses from all around the world. So you can take your pick depending on the mood you are in and the challenges you need. I usually play the Spyglass Hill or the Pebble Beach courses, both of which are in California, USA. These are one hundred percent accurate. I have more fun playing the Pebble Beach course. Why? I don’t know. I just do.

Keep in mind that the golf you play here is not an outdoor sport. It’s a great place for the office guy to unwind after a day at work. You can swing by and play 18 holes in an hour, since you don’t have to spend time walking all around a golf course.

And of course it falls short of a real golf course in matching weather conditions; for example if it’s cold outside the ball won’t travel fast. But other than that the experience is excellent.

Golfworx uses an academy level simulator, so you get a very good deal. There are cameras set up at different angles and they also have technology that gives you a numerical value of the shots that you play. In the US, you wear bodysuits and then hit the ball and you can analyse yourself. This is the next best thing. It’s the best facility I have seen in India so far. Even professionals can analyse their swing over here.

Getting a good club fit will be easier due to this. People of different sizes have different requirements and now that you can analyse yourself locally, you can get a set of clubs just right for you; no more walking into a store and ordering a set of clubs that don’t suit you.

I think this could turn into one of the best places to learn golf. You only have to spend an hour a day here. I only train with my coach so I have never needed a coach here, but Golfworx has two of the finest coaches in the country: Karan Bindra and Aditya Charan, who teach at the DLF Golf Academy. So you know you are in good hands.

If you need golfing equipment you don’t have to move out of the facility. They have a store that houses 24 brands of golf equipment. I don’t think there is any place in India where you can find such a
huge variety.

If you need a break from proper golf, you can opt to play games like Smash the Windows to improve your aim. And they also have a restaurant, bar, members’ lounge and conference room, and individual and corporate level memberships.
