No kidding: ChuChu TV scores a billion hat-trick

Chennai-headquartered chuchu TV, one of the world’s most popular YouTube channels for children, has reached one billion views on three of its videos. It is the only Indian YouTube channel to do so across genres, the first children-focussed one to globally do so, and only the sixth YouTube channel in the world overall to cross this mark.

The first five YouTube channels to achieve this distinction are those of music superstars Shakira, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.

ChuChu TV’s three record-breaking videos are ‘Johnny Johnny Yes Papa’, ‘ChuChu TV Surprise Eggs Old McDonald’, and ‘ChuChu TV Phonics song with two words’. The company was founded in Chennai in 2013 by Vinoth Chandar and now creates a range of content with pre-school learning modules, songs, stories, nursery rhymes and more. ChuChu TV and its 10 sub-channels garner about 20 million views a day and add close to 50,000 subscribers daily.
