Carniture uses scrapped cars and other automobiles to create unique furniture pieces. This Mercedes Sofa is made from a 1982 Mercedes model 240 D (W123 shape), and is painted in the original white Mercedes non-metallic colour. The sofa, in tan leather, is standing on the pistons of the car’s engine, which were removed for this purpose. Adding a twist are the tail lights, which can be switched on.

Taste of mystery

Over the past few years, Glenlivet has produced a mystery whisky—with no age statement, cask type or tasting notes. This year the brand has raised its game with the release of Glenlivet Code, which invites whisky enthusiasts to be part of a global Bletchley Park and decipher the expression. A dedicated website leads to a digital tasting room, where a virtual version of master distiller Alan Winchester challenges you to decode the dram using four aromas and four flavors. At the end of the year, Glenlivet will reveal the official tasting notes. Until then, the whisky has some spicy notes (like cinnamon) and a fruit salad of tastes. Is it a 15-year-old sherry or Madeira cask? Your guess is as good as ours.
