An argument has been rumbling on for years amongst experts concerning the real effect of corruption on a country’s economy. Despite widespread condemnation of corruption, some academics insist that such illegal practices as bribery do in fact grease the wheels of economic growth.
useful article..
on Feb 23, 2014Good article. Crying there is corruption in the country is easy but how honest we are when we say this. Anti Dowry act is there since time Immemorial, but who are the people who demand more dowry, mostly educated and rich people. While Corruption is a hobby in the West, it is a WAY OF LIFE in India. Here at least there is Socialism and Democaracy in this country and mostly no section is an exception. We need Lal Bahadur Sastrijis, Guljarilal Nandajis to bring in clean Rajya in this country. Can it be achieved? I hve my own doubts. Atleast in the time frame of 50 years! Dr.A.Jagadeesh Nellore(AP),India
on Dec 30, 2013there is no incentive on the bureaucrats to work ethically and honestly. The systems are not in place to ensure maximum transparency with utmost accountability. The arrogance with which bureaucracy treats citizenry shouldn't be tolerated. Civil servants first duty is towards citizens and they are supposed to act civil and listen to people to address their problems. However, mostly all public complaints are stonewalled and feedback mechanism is discouraged. Higher officers do not even have knowledge of lapses to be able to take corrective action to improve customer (in this case citizen) satisfaction on their service. How can a system work properly without feedback and correction?
on Dec 30, 2013Ah! Some fresh air at last. CORRUPTION IS BAD. I hope more people read this article and take this reasoning to even more people. People need to shout from their roof tops that corruption is bad. Once the systems are set right people can resume their normal life.
