India’s most eminent corporate honchos will congregate at the CNBC-TV18 India Business Leader Awards (IBLA) on Thursday, January 17, to celebrate the country’s remarkable advancements in business. The glittering event will be held in Mumbai, and televised live on CNBC-TV18.

The India Business Leader Awards, now in its 14th edition, felicitates business leaders who have revolutionised the sphere and risen above the industry threshold, setting new standards for growth, scale and market leadership. This year, inspired by the evolving business and economic ecosystem, the theme will be ‘Leaders of Change’.

Prominent luminaries such as Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director, Reliance Industries Ltd; Piyush Pandey, global CCO, Ogilvy; Raamdeo Agrawal, managing director, Motilal Oswal Group; and Sajjan Jindal, chairman and managing director, JSW, will come together under a single roof for a grand soirée.

The jury panel chaired by Uday Kotak, chairman and managing director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, comprised industry veterans including Harsh Mariwala, chairman, Marico; Rajnish Kumar, chairman, State Bank of India; Kalpana Morparia, CEO, JP Morgan India; Sanjay Nayar, CEO, KKR India; Vani Kola, managing director, Kalaari Capital; Nimesh Kampani, chairman, JM Financial; Rajiv Memani, chairman and regional managing partner, EY India; and Zarin Daruwala, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank.

As per the IBLA website, winners are selected using a three-phase process, evaluated on a combination of criteria—these include financial performance, leadership, creativity and social responsibility. Candidates are also evaluated on their ability to create short-term advantage, long-term value, a competitive edge, and the demonstration of leadership in the business community.

According to CNBC-TV18, with each passing year, IBLA hopes to scale in its endeavour to provide corporate change-makers an enriching platform, keeping a keen eye on the future while honouring those who have created history. Viewers can track the event live on Twitter and Facebook too, by following the hashtags #leadersofchange and #CNBCTV18IBLA.
