Making a trip to London around the end of the month? No tickets to Olympic events? You could take a chance with the scalpers, but instead, consider some events which you can watch for free, without the fear of being on the wrong side of the law.
All of them (except the time trial cycling, which is at Hampton Court) start and end on The Mall, but unfortunately, that is a ticketed area. Elsewhere on their route, though, they can be seen live from the streets; the key is to get to a good vantage point early.
Outside London, the sailing events will take place at Weymouth and Portland Bay on England’s southern coast. While there are ticketed areas, the coast is like a natural amphitheatre, with the bay as stage, so you could find a vantage point where you can watch for free.
