Classical music lovers, rejoice! Newbies, get ready for the most comprehensive introduction to the European classical masters you can get. Amazon.com is offering the sweet sounds of the world’s most talented western classical music composers — Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Haydn, and many more — in box sets of a hundred at ridiculously low prices. The Mozart Complete Works, which has good reviews, contains obscure chamber music even the most well-versed Mozart lover might not know (170 CDs for $138.99 or Rs 6,700).

The Bach Complete Works ($118.99 or Rs 5,700 for 155 CDs) is also well worth it, featuring 60 of his religious cantatas performed by a small Dutch choir using period instruments.

Beginners can check out the Classical Top 1000, which brings together the most adored classical masterpieces on 75 CDs ($139.98 or Rs 6,800). You’ve probably heard some of them in commercials and the movies. Some of the box sets, we noticed, had only two or three left, so break out your credit card and log on fast for an endless concert right from your home. Where else would you get CDs for less than the cost of a cassette tape?
