In today’s technologically-driven world, our personal smartphones are irreplaceable vital components of our daily lives. But are we utilising this data in a secure, efficient form?
On an average, Indians use less than half of the apps installed on their smartphones and take an average of 31 photos and 14 videos per week. At this rate, running out of storage space is inevitable for the everyday smartphone user unless we understand how to maintain our data.
SanDisk, a Western Digital brand, commissioned a research to ask consumers how they interact with digital content that they capture on their smartphone. The study was conducted with a sample size of 1,007 adults early this year. The figures have been weighted, and are representative of the online population of adults in India (aged 18+).
Although, majority of people say they back up their phones, consumers are still regularly deleting content from their smartphone to free-up space, often sacrificing valuable photos or videos in the process. In addition, whilst apps take up valuable space on smartphones, consumers are only using one third of them on a regular basis.
