Industry Movements of the Fortnight

Riten Choudhury, a Tata Steel veteran of 23 years, has taken over as the MD of Tata BlueScope Steel, an equal joint venture between Tata Steel and Australian BlueScope Steel. Choudhury has been the VP of the building products business of Tata BlueScope Steel since 2010. The unit’s revenue tripled over the period and profits grew by 100 percent in 2012.

Anuj Agarwal has been appointed managing director and chief executive officer of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance. He takes over from V Philip, who moves to another Allianz Group company. For Agarwal, it is a second coming to Bajaj Allianz where he had previously served, since the inception of the company in 2001, and left as vice president (finance) in 2004.

Mars International India has appointed Raghav Rekhi as marketing director. Rekhi, who has spent 14 years at Mars International, was marketing director for Middle East, Turkey and Africa. He has a degree in economics and business management from Babson College, Massachusetts, USA.
