Chairman of UPL, a leading agrochemicals player, returns to the list after a 6-year hiatus on a jump in shares propelled by growing sales in Latin America and Europe. He owns a one-third stake in UPL, started by him in 1969 to make red phosphorus, which is used in matchsticks. Older son Jai runs operations and is global chief executive officer and vice chairman. In June UPL acquired a 26% stake in forecasting firm Weather Risk Management Services.
