With three Test centuries within the period under consideration, (not counting the stellar 188-run knock against New Zealand in October) the Indian vice captain continues to be one of India's top performing batsmen. The diminutive Mumbai boy also had a good run at the Indian Premier League this year, averaging 43.63 in the 14 matches that he played for the Rising Pune Supergiants. However, his decidedly less impressive performances in one-day internationals have meant that his appearance in the ODI squad has been sporadic.
