After organising the Mitsubishi Electric Cup for three consecutive years, Mitsubishi Electric concluded its fourth edition on Saturday, 16th February 2019. The annual Mitsubishi Electric Cup has emerged as the biggest national-level automation competition in India, which challenges many collegiate engineering teams to design, build and present factory-automated, innovative working models. All the participating teams were backed by Mitsubishi Electric India’s technical support team, and were provided with the essential Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation products.

The 4th Mitsubishi Electric Cup concluded with a felicitation ceremony at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, Faridabad.
The competition primarily comprised three parts: System design and presentation basic knowledge and good behaviour. The system design and presentation component requires participating teams to focus on the theme of ‘Digital Industry through Smart Imagination’, and independently design and produce a complete set of devices or models using Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation products—the control system had to be built based on the e-F@ctory concept.
The two-day competition saw some of the most innovative project displays. Team SPARK from DKTE Society’s Textile & Engineering Institute, ICHALKARANJI, became the winners of the 4th Mitsubishi Electric Cup, receiving Rs 1 lakh and a trophy as prizes.

Katsunori Ushiku, managing director, Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd, congratulated the winners and said, “We are obliged to witness such young talent showcasing their innovative creations. Mitsubishi Electric is giving a platform to students to work as a team, create innovations and excel in the field of Factory Automation, which ultimately contributes to the National Mission of Skill Development. We are hopeful that our initiative will help young minds to innovate in their future endeavors as well.”
