Lawyer of the Year
In-house lawyers not only provide legal advise to their organisations but also influence crucial business decisions with their expertise. This event recognizes outstanding performance by individual lawyers working in-house, including corporate and public sector lawyers.
Eligibility
- The nominations are open to anyone working as a dedicated in-house lawyer or working as a legal services professional who does not hold the position of general counsel or head of legal.
- The applicant must be fully integrated into the entity and should not be involved in any private practice matters.
- The nominee should be a licensed lawyer enrolled in any State Bar in India.
- The nominee should be an Indian citizen.
- For the special category of nominees with less than 10 years’ experience, the date of the nominee’s eenrolment with any State Bar should be less than 10 years ago as on 31st October, 2020.
Assessment Criteria
Submissions will be judged on the basis of responses to the following questions along with the supporting and additional material. Kindly answer each question in 500 words max:
- Provide details of your professional achievements/outstanding work from 1st April, 2019 to 30th September, 2020
- How have you alleviated risk, and contributed to the financial or policy goals of your organization?
- How has your leadership added value to the professional strategy of your employer?
Mandatory Information
Kindly provide the following details to enhance your submission:
- Upload a high-resolution picture, preferably a headshot.
- Upload a high-resolution company logo.
- Name of the organization you work at. Mention the size of the company/firm.
- In which year did you enter the legal industry?
- Which State Bar are you registered with? Provide registration number.
- Kindly mention the current and past practice areas of law that you have specialized in.
- List all your professional qualifications, courses and degrees (can be in any field, not just legal).
- Are you currently a member of any law association(s)? If yes, then kindly specify the name(s).
- Kindly list any external groups, associations, boards or bodies that you are a member of.
- Have you done any pro-bono work? If yes, then kindly provide details

You could provide the following supporting documents:
- References and testimonials.
- Media coverage, statistics and data reports and/or financial or business metrics to support your nomination.
- Submit an optional short video, up to 30 seconds long, in which you talk about “What Featuring in the Top List of Forbes means to me.”
