General Counsel
A General Counsel is more than just a lawyer. With the significant responsibilities of acting as the legal representative and providing legal and commercial advice on a host of wide-ranging issues, a General Counsel or Legal Head adds a lot of value to an organization. This Event recognizes the best in-house performance and leadership of General Counsels, Legal Heads and Chief Legal Officers.
Eligibility
- The nominations are open to all General Counsel, Legal Heads and Chief Legal Officers based in India.
- The nominee should be a licensed lawyer enrolled in any State Bar in India
- The nominee should be an Indian citizen.
- For the special category of nominees with less than 10 years’ experience, the date of the nominee’s enrolment with any State Bar should be less than 10 years ago as on 31st October 2020.
Assessment Criteria
Submissions will be judged on the basis of responses to the following questions along with the supporting and additional material. Kindly answer each question in 500 words max:
- Provide details of your professional achievements/outstanding work from 1st April 2019 to 30th September, 2020
- How have you alleviated risk, and contributed to the financial or policy goals of your organisation?
- How has your leadership transformed the work culture and perspective of the in-house team?
Mandatory Information
Kindly provide the following details to enhance your submission:

- Name of the organization you work at. Mention the size of the company/firm
- In which year did you enter the legal industry?
- Which State Bar are you registered with? Provide registration number.
- Kindly mention the current and past practice areas of law that you have specialized in.
- List all your professional qualifications, courses and degrees (can be in any field, not just legal).
- Are you currently a member of any law association(s)? If yes, then kindly specify the name(s).
- Kindly list any external groups, associations, boards or bodies that you are a member of.
- Have you done any pro-bono work? If yes, then kindly provide details.
