Shah Rukh Khan climbed back to the top of the rankings from No 3 last year, riding on the back of some sizzling successes at the box office. The actor's heist action film Happy New Year, released in October 2014, was a huge hit, amassing over Rs 200 crore. His perch on the top can also be attributed to the 20 brands that he endorses—the highest among actors—which earned him a whopping Rs 160 crore. He also made a comeback as a television host after three years with India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun?, which was a moderate success. As a sports team owner, however, he had a poor year. His team Kolkata Knight Riders failed to make it to the top four in IPL 2015.
