The Mercedes-AMG G 63 - Stronger than Time

With the festival season upon us, we are presented with a resounding reminder of the power of tradition. In that light, keeping tradition alive, India’s largest luxury car manufacturer recently launched its iconic performance off-roader - the new generation Mercedes-AMG G 63, with many appealing upgraded features, while retaining its 39 year old heart and soul. Effectively, the new AMG G 63 is everything it was but can do everything better than the preceding models.

This cult luxury off-roader has stood the test of generations and gained the distinction of being a yardstick for competitors. Remaining true to its well-proven virtues, it continues to be unquestionably aspirational, not despite but especially due to its retro and rugged appearance.

Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine that generates an astonishing 430 kW (585 hp) of power, helps the new AMG G 63 attain 100 km/h from standstill in a mere 4.5 seconds. It underpins its unique position among performance off-road vehicles with the powerful drive system, the newly developed AMG ride control suspension, the AMG-specific transmission modes and a torsionally rigid bodyshell mounted on a strong ladder-type chassis. The AMG Speed shift TCT 9G transmission used in the new G 63 has a model-specific software application to achieve very short shift times while the multiple downshift function allows more spontaneous bursts of speed. The double-declutching function in "Sport" and "Sport Plus" transmission modes makes for an even more emotional driving experience.

The new AMG G 63 has a host of safety features - Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, an optional Driving Assistance package which includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC as well as Blind Spot Assist, a high-performance braking system, and more, in keeping with the family lineage’s focus on safety.
