There may not be anything remarkable about a room full of men who lead businesses, opinions and policies. But there is indeed a lot that is remarkable and inspiring about a room full of women who are leaders in the corporate world.

Forbes India and Grand Hyatt Mumbai came together on September 23 — the eve of the release of the Forbes List of World’s Most Powerful Women —  to celebrate the power of women who are leaders in the world of business and finance, and those who are waiting in the wings for their time to take centre stage. The talent and caliber of the evening’s guests made it amply clear that it is no surprise that the Forbes List has four Indians on it.

The challenges that women face and the decisions they need to make, especially with regard to balancing their work and family lives, was the focal point of the evening’s conversations.

The event was hosted amid one of the finest collections of art commissioned by Grand Hyatt, created by a range of artists — including Prabhakar Kolte, Atul Dodiya and Yogesh Rawal — whose works were inspired by the three great archaeological sites in Mumbai that are dedicated to lord Shiva, the Elephanta islands and the cave temples of Jogeshwar and Mandapeshwar.

The multi tasking ability of a women is the most enviable quality in her. We take pride in doing all kinds of work and unwind ourselves by doing household chores even after a long day in office. Our mind and heart is very strong and can carry it all. We are the best of friends and best mothers.
