He sang 'Bismil'-an adaptation of 'Mousetrap' from Shakespeare's Hamlet-in Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider, which became a raging success this year. He followed it up with another chartbuster, 'Happy Budday', in the YRF-produced Kill/Dil. Singh has been invited to a special event in Trivandrum where 73,000 people plan to celebrate their birthday with a live performance of 'Happy Budday'. Once dismissed as a character voice, the man made it big in 1997 with 'Chhaiyya Chhaiyya' from Dil Se.., and has subsequently been the voice of Shah Rukh Khan in seven films.
