The Oriental White Eye is small (about 8–9 cm long) with yellowish olive upper parts, a white eye ring, yellow throat and vent. The belly is whitish grey but may have yellow in some subspecies. The name “white-eye” comes from the white ring around the eye that makes it look a lot larger than it actually is. She is perched on a bunch of barren dead mushroom. The sunlight reflecting on the mushrooms deceptively illuminates it, giving it an almost metallic look and feel.
