Breaking the silence:How Miror is redefining women’s midlife healthcare in India
From PCOS to menopause, Founder & CEO Sanjith Shetty is building a stigma-free, science-backed and accessible ecosystem for women’s health

For decades, women’s midlife health concerns including perimenopause and menopause have been relegated to whispers and silence. Inspired by the journeys of his mother and wife, Sanjith Shetty founded Miror to bring these conversations into the mainstream. With over 75,000 women engaged through communities, partnerships with government programs, and science-led supplements, Miror is reshaping preventive healthcare for women in India. Today, the company is expanding beyond menopause to PCOS and lifelong care positioning itself as a trusted health partner for women across every stage of life.
Menopause has long been a whispered topic, often relegated to the shadows of women’s health discussions. What personal or professional moment catalyzed your decision to make it a mainstream conversation through Miror?
Perimenopause and Menopause are natural phases every woman will experience, that can span over 35 years and bring with it a range of symptoms, yet it remains a topic seldom discussed. I was deeply struck when I saw the strong women in my life, my mother and my wife, navigate this transition without ever speaking about the challenges they faced. They carried the weight silently as if it were something they needed to endure alone. It made me realize just how many women go through this experience without support or understanding. Miror was born out of the need to shift the narrative, ensuring that every woman feels seen, heard, and empowered during this transition.
India’s healthcare landscape has historically been reactive rather than preventive. How does Miror challenge this paradigm by integrating education, community, and natural interventions for menopause?
Rather than waiting for health issues to emerge, we focus on empowering women with knowledge and prevention with solutions specifically tailored to peri/menopause. We’ve created a thriving WhatsApp and Facebook community where women find support, share experiences, and access expert guidance with ease. With professionals and doctors on board, this community has empowered over 75,000 women and continues to make a meaningful impact. We also provide supplements like Miror Bliss, which supports hormonal balance and alleviates mood swings, and Miror Revive, designed to boost energy levels and reduce fatigue. Our social and media handles actively work to distribute educational resources on nutrition, lifestyle, and mindfulness. Recognizing that menopause affects women beyond urban areas, we’ve also extended our reach to rural areas through collaborations with the Government of Karnataka and training programs for 3000+ Asha workers.
Many Femtech solutions emerge from the West and often fail to consider the biological, cultural, and dietary specificities of Indian women. How does Miror ensure its approach is tailored to the Indian experience of menopause?
Miror’s approach to peri/menopause is tailored to the unique needs of Indian women, considering their regional diets, traditional knowledge, and cultural practices. Our wellness supplements incorporate natural ingredients that are scientifically backed, such as Ashwagandha, Shatavari Root, and Ashoka Bark, known for their therapeutic effects on menopause symptoms. By using time-tested remedies, we ensure effective management of both physical and emotional changes. Miror is also associated with the Indian Menopause Society, and actively engages with Doctors across the country, fostering deeper community engagement, and enhancing visibility and understanding of our femtech solutions to create a more informed and supportive environment.
With the rise of biohacking and longevity science, there’s growing discourse around ‘healthy aging’, yet menopause is still largely seen as a decline rather than a transition. How do you envision Miror reshaping this narrative?
Menopause has long been seen as a loss of youth, energy, and vitality rather than a new beginning. This outdated view leaves many women feeling unprepared and isolated as if they’re fading instead of evolving. Miror has the power to change this story. By embracing menopause as a natural shift, not a setback, it can help women see this phase as one of renewal and strength. With science-backed support, personalized care, and a focus on overall well-being, Miror can turn menopause into a time of empowerment, where women feel in control, vibrant, and ready for what’s next.
Menopause is as much a workplace issue as it is a personal health concern, yet corporate policies rarely acknowledge it. What role do you see businesses playing in supporting employees through this life stage, and how can Miror influence that shift?
Menopause isn’t just a personal milestone, it is also a workplace reality that affects productivity, retention, and overall well-being. Yet, most businesses still don’t acknowledge it in their policies. Unlike maternity or mental health, menopause remains a silent struggle, forcing employees to deal with fatigue, brain fog, and anxiety without support. This lack of awareness leads to talent loss, absenteeism, and a workplace culture that overlooks a crucial phase of professional life. Miror can help change this by driving open conversations, encouraging companies to create flexible policies, and promoting wellness initiatives that directly support employees. By sharing real employee experiences, pushing for leadership commitment, and developing awareness campaigns, we can make menopause a recognized workplace concern.
Building trust in women’s healthcare is a challenge, given the history of medical gaslighting and misinformation. How does Miror ensure its recommendations and products stand up to rigorous scientific and ethical scrutiny?
Building trust in women’s healthcare requires acknowledging the historical gaps, biases, and misinformation that have shaped women’s experiences for far too long. At Miror, we’re committed to doing things differently. Our products are formulated using clinically certified ingredients, developed by experienced scientists, and backed by medical professionals. Every recommendation we make is grounded in evidence-based research. But we know trust isn’t built on credentials alone. That’s why we also prioritize transparency by clearly sharing what goes into our products, why it’s there, and how it supports women through peri/menopause. We actively listen to the community, engage with experts, and continuously update our offerings based on emerging science and real-life feedback. For us, scientific rigor, ethical responsibility, and lived experience go hand in hand—because women deserve nothing less.
In a world where wellness often intersects with privilege, how does Miror plan to make women’s midlife healthcare accessible across socioeconomic barriers, particularly in India’s underserved regions?
Miror is on a mission to make menopause care accessible and affordable for every woman in India. Through digital platforms, we provide access to information in 25+ languages on our website, a free chatbot developed for peri/menopause, doctor consultations, scientifically backed supplements, low-cost consultations, expert-led guidance, and a supportive community that empowers women with the knowledge they need. Our localized awareness campaigns in regional languages aim to break stigma, foster open conversations, and promote informed health decisions. By partnering with leading doctors, we integrate menopause care into existing health programs, ensuring no woman is left behind. With tiered pricing models and a commitment to inclusivity, we envision a future where menopause care is a right, not a privilege, where every woman can navigate this transition with confidence, dignity, and the expert care she deserves.
Miror began by addressing menopause, but with new products like Mily and PCOS solutions, you’re now covering a much wider spectrum of women’s health. What’s the bigger vision driving this expansion?
At Miror, we’ve always believed that women’s health cannot be seen in silos. Menopause was our starting point because of how overlooked and stigmatized it has been, but very quickly we realized the same gaps exist across every stage of a woman’s life from puberty to post-menopause. Conditions like PCOS, fertility struggles, and postpartum recovery often leave women feeling unheard or underserved by conventional healthcare systems. With Mily, we are building a continuum of care that accompanies women at every milestone, addressing physical, emotional, and social dimensions together. The bigger vision is not just to be a femtech brand but to become a trusted lifelong health partner for women, ensuring that no phase of their journey feels invisible.
Which underexplored areas of women’s health do you see as the next frontier for Miror in the coming years?
There are several critical but under-discussed areas we see as the next frontier. Mental health in relation to hormonal transitions is one, issues like peri-menopausal depression, PMDD, or postpartum anxiety are rarely connected to women’s biological rhythms, yet they profoundly impact quality of life. Another is bone, hormone therapy accesibility and heart health in midlife, where preventive care could change long-term outcomes but is often ignored. We’re also looking at how digital health tools can help women better understand their bodies. For us, the frontier isn’t just about new products, but about reframing how women engage with healthcare: proactive, personalized, and stigma-free.
You’ve often spoken about how your mother and wife’s journeys shaped the birth of Miror. But on a personal level, what has been the most surprising or challenging lesson you’ve learned while leading conversations on women’s health as a male founder in this space?
The most surprising lesson has been realizing just how much silence surrounds women’s health, even among the most empowered women I know. When we first began, I thought the challenge would be building medical credibility or scaling the community. But the deeper challenge was cultural: breaking through years of conditioning that told women to endure quietly rather than seek help. As a male founder, I’ve had to earn trust not by claiming to understand women’s experiences, but by listening deeply, amplifying women’s voices, and making space for them to lead the conversation. It’s been humbling to learn that leadership in this space isn’t about having answers, but about creating platforms where women feel safe to share their own.
