Starting september 1, Joe King (in picture) will replace Michael Perschke as the head of Audi India. King’s last assignment was general manager and dealer principal at Audi Australia. Perschke is headed back to the HQ (Germany) where he will manage network strategy and business management (at the international level) at Audi AG.

Ashok Vemuri, global head of manufacturing and the Americas at Infosys, has quit the IT giant. The 45-year-old was in the race to succeed SD Shibulal in the corner office. He is said to be heading to a significantly smaller iGate Corp as CEO. However, at the time of writing, there was no confirmation from either the company or from Vemuri.

Nishi Vasudeva is set to take over as chairperson and managing director, Hindustan Petroleum, when the incumbent S Roy Choudhury retires next February. Vasudeva, an IIM-Calcutta grad, has been part of a male-dominated sector for 34 years. Among the significant new projects she will oversee as chief will be a new refinery in Rajasthan.

Sushil Maroo will take over as CEO of Essar Energy from Naresh Nayar. Maroo recently quit as the joint MD of the Naveen Jindal-led JSPL. Maroo, who spent over a decade at the company, also headed its global business. He was instrumental in JSPL setting up India’s first private 1,000 MW power plant and led the company’s diversification into petroleum.
