Three Bollywood film stars have made it to the latest 'World's Highest-Paid Celebrities' list, released by Forbes on Monday.

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is the top-ranked Indian, at No 65. The 51-year-old actor earned $38 million (approximately Rs 245 crore) last year. The other two Hindi film actors on the list are Salman Khan (Rank 71; $37 million) and Akshay Kumar (Rank 80; $35.5 million).

The Forbes global Celebrity 100 list ranks "front of the camera" stars around the globe using their pretax earnings from June 1, 2016 through June 1, 2017, before deducting fees for managers, lawyers and agents. Forbes’s figures are based on numbers from Nielsen, Pollstar and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry experts.

"Though the members of Forbes’ Celebrity 100 this year earned about the same as they did last year -- just over $5 billion in total -- the way they're earning is changing," says Zack O'Malley Greenburg, Forbes' senior editor of media & entertainment. "Streaming platforms from Spotify to Netflix are finally creating meaningful income for entertainers, something that seemed a distant dream only a few years ago."
