One out of every three Indians uses a product made by Marico, the $781 million (revenues) consumer goods firm that Mariwala controls with family. From factories in India, Bangladesh, Africa, Egypt and Vietnam, its products, which range from cooking oil to hair colour, are shipped to 25 countries across Asia and Africa. He recently increased his stake in Marico Kaya Enterprises, a chain of 86 skin care clinics, including 18 in the Middle East, which was spun off from Marico.
