Diamond jeweller Nirav Modi made a splash at Sotheby's auction in Hong Kong this year with an 88-carat diamond necklace which sold for $8 million. The Wharton dropout, who counts several of the country's wealthiest among his clients, is now aiming to expand domestic sales of his $1.6 billion (revenues) Firestar Diamond. In March, he opened the first Nirav Modi branded retail store in Delhi with a jewellery line priced at $4,000 upwards.
