Father and son's InterGlobe Group has a majority stake in IndiGo, which son Rahul built into country's largest airline in eight years. IndiGo now has a fleet of 80 planes, all from the Airbus A320 family. In 2011, the airline ordered 180 more of the aircraft, including A320neo, which has more fuel-efficient engines. Bhatia is expected to list IndiGo on the Indian bourses soon. IndiGo recently signed a $2.6 billion deal with Chinese lender, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, to finance 30 new aircraft. Bhatia's other interests include the Ibis hotel chain, a joint venture with Accor that has nine hotels and another dozen in the pipeline.
