Soul of Kolkata: Candid images from the City of Joy

The ‘Soul of Kolkata’ photography contest and exhibition presented by ITC Sonar (in association with Streets of Calcutta) succinctly captured moments which celebrate the 'City of Joy', Kolkata, in its most ardent and resplendent glory. The categories ranged from the heritage to the unique architecture to food and river  followed by the markets, nature, festival, river, the modern and traditional city; anything that celebrates the soul of the city.

Here are the 13 winning entries, chosen from more than 4600 photographs. These images (and 13 more special mentions) were exhibited at the WelcomArt Gallery from July 2 to 4, 2016, at the WelcomArt Gallery ITC Sonar, Kolkata.
