On October 26, NBA megastar Steph Curry filed a trademark application for his version of the Metaverse, which he plans to introduce to the league's 650 million fans. The trademark application was reportedly filed by SC30 Inc. If it is approved, the four-time NBA champion will get the exclusive rights for “entertainment services, namely, personal and virtual and metaversal appearances.”

The “Curryverse” is further expected to provide online gaming services in virtual worlds. In these worlds, players can earn both fungible and non-fungible tokens. These tokens can be bought or sold in an online marketplace.

The app will also provide users with virtual clothing and goods, business management and investment services, charitable fundraising services, and software as a service (SaaS). It will also feature software platforms for designing, promoting, selling and exchanging NFTs. Even though no specific details have been released yet, Steph Curry's Metaverse is already generating a lot of buzz. With a huge social media following of 47 million on Instagram and 17.1 million on Twitter, it's sure to be a hit.

This isn't Curry's first foray into the world of Web3--in fact, the metaverse-related trademark may be his first move in this space. Earlier in August this year, Curry became a part of the NFT community for the first time. It was done after he made a $206,000 Bored Ape Yacht Club purchase. This purchase made headlines and caught the attention of many in the NFT space.

Golden State Warriors player Steph Curry is known for his love of golf. So it's no surprise he's also invested in LinksDAO, a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) working to build the world's greatest golf community. As part of his ambassador role with the popular crypto exchange FTX, the NBA superstar was also featured in an advertisement in March.

It is worth noting here that recently blockchain infrastructure firm Chain has landed a multi-year partnership with National Football League (NFL) team New England Patriots and, just eight days later, has become the official “Web3/Blockchain infrastructure partner” of the Miami Heat.

The chain announced a partnership with Web3 Foundation on November 1st, aiming to provide a suite of products and services that bridge the gap between the sports industry and blockchain technology. This will include a range of products and services that address the complexities of overall blockchain management.

As part of the partnership, Chain's logo will be featured on the Miami Heat player's pre-game shooting shirt. The blockchain solutions company will also have a prominent presence on the NBA team's social media platforms.
