In anticipation of the festive season, leading platforms are adding more than a million new jobs to manage the sharp rise in demand

About 1.6 million seasonal jobs are being created this festive season, led by ecommerce giants. Meesho alone is generating 1.2 million jobs, with Flipkart adding 220,000 and Amazon another 150,000 in a major hiring push ahead of India's biggest shopping season. Companies, already anticipating a surge in demand, are now expected to get an additional boost from the GST rate rationalisation.
