ABOUT US

Ever since our launch in May 2009, Forbes India has been a champion of entrepreneurial capitalism, in line with the Forbes DNA. We also share the vision that over the next ten years, India has a never-before chance to continue to create an entrepreneurial renaissance.

Apart from chronicling that journey, the magazine seeks to play a catalytic role in spotting and recognising outstanding entrepreneurs and business leaders. Instituting The Forbes India Leadership Awards (FILA), which commenced in 2011, is one big step in that direction. In many ways, the themes behind each award category reflect the editorial agenda of our magazine. At Forbes India, we believe in the spirit of fair play: entrepreneurs need to follow the rules. That's why we put in enormous effort to research each nomination and put them through a stringent methodology, before presenting the 150-page FILA docket to the independent jury.

Forbes India Leadership Awards is our annual flagship event aimed to recognize outstanding leaders. Transformational leadership, which our every edition seeks to honour, includes individuals and organisations who have achieved success through their vision, foresight, and business ethics.

The nominees—who the Forbes India team short-lists across 12 award categories—put their enterprises on a new growth trajectory by taking bold decisions, creating value for all stakeholders or innovating for a deeper social cause. They are individuals and organisations who believe in creating an environment where leadership can thrive; they help create a new generation of leaders.

The profiles are as diverse as the spectrum of entrepreneurship in India: There are chiefs of banks with billions of dollars in assets; there are heads of companies who have painstakingly created a valued brand, a sustainable business or turned them into profitable enterprises; there are founders of startups who have carved a niche for themselves in a short span of time, and there are philanthropists who are distributing their wealth towards specific social causes, post the pandemic.

VISION

At Forbes India, we put in enormous effort to research each nomination and put them through a stringent methodology. Forbes India Leadership Awards is our annual event aimed to recognize outstanding leaders. The nominees—who an independent jury shortlisted from a universe of around 120 business leaders across the award categories—put their enterprises on a new growth trajectory by adopting new strategies and pulling their corporates out of the impact of the crippling pandemic and onto a well-defined growth trajectory.

The vision is to identify leaders and decision makers across corporates, who have not just created moats to safeguard their businesses but identified and implemented strategies for growth in the post-pandemic world. Digital technologies and the pandemic have, both, forced entrepreneurs and leaders to think-out-of-the-box, redefine their capital raising requirements and be strategically ruthless in implementation to grow into regional giants and also persistent in adopting sustainable practices, as the corporate grows. This year, we acknowledge 12 of the finest.

VISION

MISSION

Since our launch in May 2009, Forbes India has been a champion of entrepreneurial capitalism, in line with the Forbes DNA. We also share the vision that in the coming decade, India has a never-before chance to create an entrepreneurial renaissance. Signs of this are underway, seen over the last 6-7 years, in the form of not just successfully operating – but also scaled up -- startups and traditional businesses, where the leadership has often revitalised fortunes.

Apart from chronicling that journey, Forbes India seeks to play a catalytic role in spotting and recognising outstanding entrepreneurs. The Forbes India Leadership Awards, which commenced in 2011, each year felicitates the finest across categories. In many ways, the themes behind each award category reflect the editorial agenda of our magazine. In recent years the emphasis has been to recognise outstanding startups, which have been adopting new-age technology and leaders who have started giving away a significant portion of their wealth towards social needs or those ‘green warriors’ who have taken steps to transform their businesses towards clean energy from traditional, fossil-based, sources.
