This model features the characteristic double indices at 12 o’clock, making the dial more visible under water. Visibility is further enhanced by the internal rotating bezel, which is colour-blocked with the diving scale and zone (from 60 to 15 minutes). To comply with ISO 6425, the international standard for diver’s watches, Audemars Piguet made the baton hands highly distinguishable from each other for optimum readability. They also added a lume pip on the sweep seconds hand so that a diver can read whether his watch is running even in darkness. The Royal Oak Offshore Diver Chronograph comes in four bright colors: Bright blue, orange, yellow, and lime green. All fitted with corresponding rubber straps.

The crown of the watch screws down securely, and the sapphire crystal is nearly 4 mm thick, making it ideal for professional divers. The case includes a helium valve, protecting the watch from damage from pressure changes while a diver is ascending or descending in a diving bell. The large hands and prominent hour markers are all coated with Super-LumiNova, which glows light blue in the dark, making them more legible under water.

The range of this watch’s altimeter is wide enough to be able to measure height from 300 m below sea level, up to 10,000 m above sea level. Three hands indicate altitude, measuring it in increments of 1,000 m, 100 m, and 2.5 m. The altimeter measures altitude and time simultaneously. The electronic compass indicates north by reading the geomagnetic field through an electric sensor, displaying direction and time simultaneously. Wearers can find their location with the push of a button even when the electronic compass is in the middle of measuring altitude.

In most parts of the world, tides follow a twice-daily lunar cycle, with each tide coming in (on average) every 12 hrs 25 minutes, before receding. The CO 277 caliber, which lies at the heart of this watch, was specifically designed to predict the timing of the next two tides. The CO 277 caliber provides essential navigation-related information, along with other subdials. The moon appears at 12 o’clock. When it is full or new moon, the amplitude or strength of the tides—indicated by a specific hand on the dial—is at its peak, with a coefficient of between 95 and 120, dipping to between 20 and 45 during the first and last moon quarters. The 6 o’clock subdial shows the time of the next two tides within the next 24-hours. The counter at 9 o’clock indicates whether the tide is rising or ebbing, as well as its strength. When the pointer is on the horizontal red line, the tide is at its maximum intensity.

Sport: Polo Watch model: Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon
Jaeger-LeCoultre created the first Reverso in 1931 for polo players who did not want their watch-faces cracked in the course of a rough match. The solution to this problem was simple: A watch in which the dial could be swiveled inwards. Since the 1930s, JLC has come up with several versions and variations of this watch, adding different degrees of complications and style to an eternal design. The Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon is the latest in this line of innovation, and celebrates the watch’s 85th anniversary.
