I love a good story, be it through advertisements, movies or an entrepreneur who dared to think differently. I believe in bringing in fresh perspectives -- to a corporate profile or a Facebook post -- like new wine in an even newer bottle. I graduated with a journalism degree from the Xavier Institute of Communications. My weekend rituals involve watching Bollywood movies and reading up on style trends.
Radha Kapoor Khanna, Founder and CEO, DOIT Creations and executive director, ISDI
Radha Kapoor Khanna, 32, decided to try her hand at entrepreneurship only at her father Rana Kapoor’s (MD and CEO, Yes Bank) insistence. “I was always creatively inclined and never into finance,” she says. But even as an entrepreneur, she has not cast aside her creative instincts.
Her company DOIT Creations, founded in 2009, operates the Indian School of Design and Innovation (ISDI) in partnership with New York’s Parsons School of Design, Radha’s alma mater. Under ISDI, she has also started a school of communications in alliance with the British advertising company WPP and a creative accelerator programme with Microsoft Ventures.
DOIT Creations also holds the franchisee rights for Spanish dry cleaning chain Pressto, retails the French luxury brand Longchamp in India and has invested in Pro Kabaddi team Dabang Delhi, Hockey India League franchise Dabang Mumbai, and the Sequoia-backed co-working space Awfis. All the investments have been funded by the Kapoors’ family office Three Sisters (a reference to Radha and her younger siblings Raakhe and Roshini).
Amit Ramani, founder and CEO, Awfis, says, “Radha is able to foresee what people will require tomorrow.” And Radha corroborates: “These businesses are here to stay. It’s not just about wealth, but also creating value and impact.”
It’s not just about wealth. But also value and impact.
