There’s something romantic about lighthouses guiding sailors in the deep dark seas. Just off the tip of Southport Island in Maine’s Boothbay Harbor is the rocky ledge that houses Cuckolds Lighthouse. Built in 1892, the lighthouse has undergone massive reconstruction but hasn’t lost its charm.

Cuckolds Lighthouse has two spacious guest suites, East and West, that have been outfitted by interior design savant Tracy Davis. Decorated in shades of blue, taupe, grey and white, the suites offer panoramic views of the sea. The luxurious escape promises complete privacy and a traditional Maine lobster bake and freshly-baked cranberry scones for tea. Also, there’s not much to distract guests from their significant others.
