Rohit Sharma would have climbed much higher in this list but for the fact that he made history a month too late. The batsman scored yet another ODI double century in October this year, his 264 against Sri Lanka (the highest-ever ODI score) showcasing his explosive hitting ability on Indian pitches. Sharma has become a fixture in the ODI side and averaged 51 for the year compared to his career average of 38. He has also grown into a formidable T20 batsman with an impressive average of 40. The Mumbai Indians skipper was the team's second highest run scorer in the IPL.
Fast Fact: Sharma loves taking his BMW M5 for a spin. He has also started taking guitar lessons.
