A popular playback voice, he marked his return to acting this year with the comedy Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya. (He had made his acting debut in the Raveena Tandon-starrer Daman in 2001.) One of the few Bollywood singers to have collaborated with international artistes of repute, he had a relatively quieter year at the film music circuit, but continued to perform in concerts across the country. He also lent his voice to the title track of a popular television show. Late last year, he participated in the celebrity dancing reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, where he was one of the finalists.
