500 Million People Like This

Mark Zuckerberg is known to the world as the founder of the 500 million-plus member, $11.5 billion valued social networking site Facebook. But there have been many allegations by former friends that he ripped the idea off them and screwed them over.

The movie The Social Network (director: David Fincher, screenplay: Aaron Sorkin, adapted from Ben Mezrich’s 2009 book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook) chronicles the turbulent early days of TheFacebook (as it was first named), with Jesse Eisenberg as Zuckerberg and Arnie Hammer as Cameron Winklevoss, the betrayed friend. No one from Facebook is involved with the film making this a ‘faction’ film. But it should be a good watch nevertheless. It’s scheduled to hit Indian cinemas in December 2010.
