Vaccine billionaire's privately held Serum Institute of India has joined the fight against Ebola. Backed by the World Health Organization, it is developing a vaccine for the dreaded disease on a fast-track basis, and has agreed to sell it at cost. The world's largest vaccine producer, which makes more than 1.2 billion doses annually, reported a 40 percent rise in annual revenues to $600 million on rising demand for such vaccines as its oral polio vaccine and an injectable version made by its Dutch unit. Diversifying into hotels: Poonawalla was in the news for his $900 million bid for London's Grosvenor House Hotel. Also has stakes in an upcoming Ritz Carlton property in Pune and a Bulgari hotel in the Maldives.
