With three brothers, he runs the Muthoot Group founded by his grandfather in 1887. The flagship Muthoot Finance is India's leading lender against gold with 4,270 branches, 27 million customers, and one of the country's largest private holdings of gold of 118 tonnes. Muthoot's shares, which tumbled to half of their 2011 listing price last year after the government had tightened rules, are up again on rising demand and easing of restrictions, returning him to the list.
