It is probably the most controversial raincoat in India right now. An advertisement by Hindustan Unilever used a salesman in a yellow raincoat to throw a challenge that if consumers found a water purifier that could work without running water or power, get switched off if it is not in use and provide “germkill”, the company would give them Rs. 1 crore. Its competitor, Eureka Forbes, hit back with an ad showing a blurry water purifier, presumably HUL’s Pureit, and a man in a yellow raincoat offering water to a woman. The woman spits out the water on his raincoat saying it tastes like chlorine.

Dear HUL is the 1 crore still available and if it is then EcoloBlue\'s Atmospheric Water Generator can be eligible to claim it since it uses the air to produce water(no tap water)and it alternatively uses solar or wind energy to produce water(no electricity)and finally the AWG shuts off when both tanks-bottom and top tank are full and water in the top tank is ready for dispensing and even if power is shut off at that point the water that has reached the top tank has already been subjected to passing through sediment filter,pre-carbon filter, reverse osmosis, mineral filter,post-carbon filter and 2 stages of UV sterilization bulbs,so the water is of the highest quality in the top tank for dispensing and remember it has been produced from the AIR.
on Aug 6, 2014I heard instead of these purifiers the purification technology of Reverse Osmosis system is the perfect technology which is used for water in mineral water bottles we drink.
on Dec 17, 2009HUL task force has done a commendable job. Bringing simple chemistry to homes. Chlorine tablets have been used since more than two decades and there has been any side effects yet to be reported.
on Dec 13, 2009I think Tata's product is going to shake this market, if they can prove that their product also dispenses water that is as safe as HUL or Eurekas products.
on Dec 10, 2009I feel Eureka Forbes is acting dirty. They do not have a credible product, else they would have gone for 1 cr challenge and made the news public
