Urban India’s on the move. And one of the first things the aspirational and the affluent seek after putting down their bags in a new city are the coolest restaurants in town. Poshvine (poshvine.com ), an internet-enabled food-focussed concierge service, attempts to be an answer to their prayers by providing instant reservations to the choicest restaurants (most in the spend category of Rs 700+ per head) and organising culinary experiences (guided food strolls, pop-up restaurants and other singularly local adventures). Currently operational in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai with a membership base of 30,000 (23,000 of them in Bangalore, where they first set up shop in October 2011), they will soon have a presence in Mumbai and Delhi as well. About 60 percent of their partner-restaurants offer discounts between 20 and 25 percent, the biggest attraction for their members, but their two-a-week experiences, too, are usually sell-outs.
