Leading today's briefing is news that India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has told WhatsApp in a letter to withdraw its privacy policy update on sharing more user data with Facebook. With the update, that became effective on May 15, WhatsApp has given itself the right to share more data on users interactions with businesses with Facebook so it can more sharply target them for ads.
