Tech tycoon's Wipro, India's third-largest outsourcer, reported a 10% rise in revenues to $1.9 billion in the latest quarter. It has won new business from multinational clients such as ABB and Philip Morris. In July company's digital arm acquired Danish design firm Designit for $95 million. Son Rishad, who heads strategy and also oversees Wipro's $100 million venture capital fund, was appointed to the board in May. Premji has pledged a further 18% stake in Wipro to his charitable trust in addition to a 21% stake already given.
Wipro was recently selected by the English Premier League's Chelsea Football Club as its digital partner.
