Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology saw fortune surge as shares of his Indiabulls Housing Finance doubled in past year after government announced new policy for affordable housing. Gehlaut's property arm is building a $500 million luxury development called Blu in midtown Mumbai. It will have 300 apartments priced from $2 million to $15 million each.
In April Indiabulls secured injunction against Dow Jones & Co. to refrain from publishing report on Indiabulls and its legal disputes with Canadian research outfit Veritas, but a court recently passed a consent order and the article was published.
