Diamond jeweler, whose client list includes several Indian billionaire wives, opened his first overseas Nirav Modi-branded store in New York in September with much fanfare. Guests at the Madison Avenue launch included Hollywood actor Naomi Watts, supermodel Coco Rocha and Donald Trump Jr. He opened a store in Hong Kong shortly thereafter. He has two other retail stores in Delhi and Mumbai. Modi is also the founder of the $1.7 billion (revenues) Firestar Diamond, which makes diamond jewelry for exports.
