Richest newcomer to the list, Sunil Vaswani chairs Dubai-headquartered Stallion Group, which has a presence in 18 countries but gets the bulk of its $3.7 billion revenues from Africa. Businesses span commodities trading, frozen foods, auto assembly and dealerships, notably for Nissan, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche. Stallion, named after his favorite animal, is expanding into steel, acquaculture and low-cost housing, among much else. A British and Nigerian citizen, Vaswani was born in Jaipur, grew up in Nigeria and went to college in London. At age 21, he joined his father's trading business and oversaw an expansion. Two brothers work with him. He lives in an opulent mansion in Dubai's Emirates Hills, which includes an indoor aviary, a nightclub, an automatic carwash and a casino.
